BORN TO ROAM

The four gals over at Roam Hawaii are incredibly rad! They surf, create cool bits of clothing & sell it all out the back of an old milk van painted like a tiger on the North Shore of O'ahu! Epic. Check them out at www.roamhawaii.com

A LITTLE BIT OF SAGE

Sage Erikson is personally one of the most influential female surfers of today. I love following her Instagram feed of fashion faves, & exotic travels around the world. So I was super excited to see her pop up on my Pinterest feed the other day, modelling some beautiful garments for the forever lovely Free People. Above are a few of the pictures from the Free People's blog! Plus a mini questionnaire - I never knew we had so much in common! Couldn't agree more about the Sushi Sage ;)

ROXY #DAREYOURSELF FINALS

So voting has kicked off! ARGHGGHHHHHHHH. A crazy few days lay ahead of trying to round up votes for an epic chance of a life time. When I look back to my first post on this blog & ramble on about the 'Let The Sea Set You Free' competition & winners of last year, & how i'd love to be like those girls I saw on youtube, never, ever, ever would I have dreamt that I was this close to winning myself.
Although winning an incredible trip to Fiji, with the other 4 amazing finalists & Roxy athletes would be an absolute dream; I'd like to win this insane prize so I could do some good with it. When someone hands you an opportunity like this you've GOT to make the most of it.
I've been blogging recently about a website I'm setting up with my friend, & we're so close to getting it ready, but with all the excitement it's been a toughy. We are still scribbling hard & doodling lots, so fingers crossed it won't be too long.
I also mentioned in my video that one day I'd love to set up a charity for disabled children like my sister (who has Downs Syndrome) which I feel incredibly strong about. One day I'd love to have a centre or a club somewhere along the Cornish coast where I could set this up. Just to get children like my sister out there & ejoying the water as much as I do!
As some of you may know the very lovely Ann's Surf Cottage are promoting me through the voting stage, & I feel very blessed to have such a great team being so supportive! (Not to mention a free dress. How rad?!)
But when I got to explaining to them why I entered the competiton it made me have a think why I find Roxy so great. And it's simple. I entered because Roxy makes you believe anything is possible. The smiles on the faces of their athletes & ambassadors make me strive to live a similar lifestyle. They promote looking after your body, healthy living, being socially responsible. They promote girls to be DARING, fun, natural, spontaneous. Yes, like any other brand they're also trying to sell clothes & boost their brand popularity, but, they don't do it by slapping a picture of one of their riders bum cheeks on their billboards, or a double page spread in a magazine! (I won't mention any names) Instead they post smiles, salty hair, & girls living their dreams.
Roxy is about friendship, about unity, about sisterhood. And that's why I entered the global #DAREYOURSELF competition. That's why I want to win. To be a part of the Roxy tribe, to inspire girls from all walks of life, & to make a difference on this wonderful world we live on.

If you want to check out my final submission for the +Roxy #DAREYOURSELF competition, I've posted it above for you lovely people to have a gander at! And below is the link for voting... I can honeslty say, hand on my heart, I would appreciate every single vote you put my way, because you're putting me one step closer to my dreams. Thanks a million,

IN AWE

WOW. That's how I would describe this video and the very inspiring Kimi Werner. Growing up on the island of Maui, Hawaii and following in the footsteps of her free diving Father, Kimi spends her time as a Patagonia Surf Ambassador; spearfishing, cooking & swimming with Great White sharks! She's also quite handy with a paintbrush! If you do one thing today, watch this video.
I am so in awe of what this girl does, & find it utterly compelling that she is so connected with this wonderful world we live on.
The shot of Werner holding that sharks fin and gliding gracefully through the water should just remind us how blessed we are to still have these amazing creatures swimming in our oceans, & why we should work hard at protecting them.
This post is dedicated to my best friend & boyfriend Danny, who loves to spearfish, is a very talented Chef & leads a similar lifestyle. I know how exhilarating he will find this video & the life Kimi Werner lives. I think we all should...

HOME SWEET HOME

Since I was 17 I have been exploring, travelling & somewhere else other than home. When I was 18 I think I saw my family for less than 3 weeks over the whole year! Back then we lived in Oxford which is right up counrty & about as far inland to any beach as you can get. Although a beautiful part of the world, I never had an attachment with the area, & only saw it as home because that's where my family were located...
Travelling is a huge part of my life & always will be, but it is so so lovely to have my family now living down in Cornwall. Every time I visit our little escape on the cliff top over looking the bay it makes me realise how truely lucky we are. It hasn't always been easy for our family, but life down here just feels so
g o o d !
Above are a few images i've captured over the last week or so. The weather is hotting up now & it's starting to feel like summer... So I've got a big smile on my face.

Home is always where the heart is!
